Dear UES Families,

I am so excited to be a part of Wildcat Land! Everything I've seen thus far has been outstanding. The faculty and staff have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming year. Many of them have worked during the summer to take or teach classes to enhance their instructional skills. The teachers are an awesome group as they strive for personal excellence to better serve your children.

I am thankful for and impressed with our PTA. These ladies met with me in early summer. They have much dedication in providing opportunities for all our little Wildcats! The ideas, hard work, and giving of their time are assets. Please know, that we are equally thankful to all of our parents at home, who may not be able to come serve at the school, but you do see that your children are here and ready for us on a daily basis. Entrusting them to us says a lot to me.

You will find that I love the boys and girls and quite frankly, can be a child at heart as well. To me, children need to grow to their fullest potential while being sure to include the total child. They are much more than a test score! Don't be surprised if you see me "dressing or acting the part" of several characters as I am all about making school come alive for them.

We are ready, and I bet so are you, to have your children with us each day! I know their time with us will be valuable as we help you prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead. I hope to see all of you at our parent orientation meetings. We need and want to forge friendships with our parents. After all, you are the vital piece to help us know and serve your child.

I want you to know that my door is open. Please call or come by if you have a need. I welcome your input, questions, and concerns. Together we can make it happen!

Mrs. Nelson loves to surprise the students at UES by dressing in costumes to greet them for the holidays.  For Halloween she was a pumpkin and Santa for Christmas. The kids love the fun.
