Welcome Back,  Wildcats!

I hope that your summer was filled with all the things that you wanted to do and then some more! The rest and peacefulness of summer is always a blessing to get us ready for a new school year!

We are ready for a positive and rigorous academic school year. The teachers have worked hard to ready themselves and their rooms to begin anew. We weathered the budget cuts very well. We did lose three teachers, but were fortunate that we had three who were moving because of their families, and no one had to be cut. And, due to the realigned staffing formulas for classified staff, we have received a library clerk and another office clerk! The extra help is a blessing.

We are expecting great things with and from our wildcats.  We will continue our character education program - Being a Bucket Filler as the children as a whole embraced the positive concepts. The state has required that all parishes use a statewide standardized grading scale, so expect to see the return to the 7 point scale used in previous years. Our PTA is continuing the push to upgrade technology around the building. The goal is to have Smart Boards campus wide. Also, look for a link on our school website for you to be able to purchase spirit wear all year!

University will remain a leader in the parish as long as we have your continued support and we maintain high expectations academically, behaviorally, and socially. Your children deserve no less. Although our scores dropped this past year, UES remains in the top 7 elementary schools in the  parish. The talent and ability is right here to continue forward as long as we work together to cultivate it.

My door is always open or I am an email away! I can not wait to see your children!
