Students may participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. Some of these are elected positions. Some like choir are try-out. Others are open to everyone. Some activities are during the school day while most of them are after school hours. FIELD TRIPS
Students at University enjoy a variety of field trips that are taken to enrich their daily learning. Some of the educational and interesting places the students go are: Walter Jacobs Nature Park, Barnwell Art Center, Meadows Museum of Art, Norton’s Art Gallery, Shreveport Symphony, Shreveport Opera, Performances at The Strand, Sci-Port Discovery Center, Art Break, Red River Revel, and Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. |

The science lab has a mini computer lab plus a scanner, camera, laser disk, etc., to help enrich student learning. A highlight each year is the visit from StarLab. |

Our library is networked. All rooms are connected for the Accelerated Reader. Each class is linked to the library for access to reference and research materials. |

TECHNOLOGY
University has a computer lab with 34 Dell computers. Most classes PreK-5 work in the lab. All classrooms have at least one computer. All classes 1-5 have Internet access as well as the library and computer lab. |
