Member Selection Guidelines

 

1. Student must have attended University Elementary for at least one semester prior to selection process.

2. Student must currently be in 4th or 5th grade.

3. Student must have a 3.5 GPA (grade point average) for at least the two previous semesters to the selection process.

4. Students must complete the Candidacy Form accurately and within the given time slot.

5. Student must show responsibility, leadership, and service in the community and/or school setting.

6. Student will be chosen by the University Faculty Council for NEHS based on responsibility, leadership, and service.

7. Student/Parent must agree to NEHS member obligations: continued 3.5 GPA or above each semester, monthly meetings, pay dues ($10.00 per semester), service project participation (one per semester), participation in fundraiser (one per semester), maintain standards of NEHS, show leadership, continue to be a role model at school and in the community, and exhibit high discipline standards. 

 

Note: Membership in NEHS can be revoked if students do not continue to meet requirements throughout their membership.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009—Announcement of the new members of our NEHS chapter over the intercom and a note will be sent home to parents.

 

Wednesday, November 18, 2009—NEHS induction ceremony: 9 AM

Meeting Dates—11:50-12:10 in room T-8 (Mrs. Pace’s Room)

November 19, December 10, January 21, 2010, February 18, March 4, April 22, May 6, May 25

 

2nd semester—2010

February 2, 2010—Packets sent out to new perspective members

February 8, 2010—Packets due

February 10-22, 2010—Faculty Council to review student packets

March 1, 2010—New Members Announced

March 10, 2010—Induction Ceremony for new members
