Celebrity Fishing Tourney, June 5th, 2004

Hello folks,

The River was up and the fishing was bad!!! Other than that--I had a wonderful time. *grin* I could really get into this sport. Of course, I'd need a boat and some time.

Sorry I couldn't get y'all more pictures. I was too busy casting!

Hugs,
Shellie

Here we are lining up with all the other boats getting ready to head down the river. The fishermen all looked so laid back. As a boat was recognized by Bob Allen on the microphone, it would slowly make it's way out of the no wake zone. Then--watch out!!!! My new buddy was one of the many that felt the need for speed at that moment. The g's had me glued to my seat and wondering if I'd live to tell about the experience.

This is me and my new fishing buddy, Mark Smith. (This is also proof positive that I'm not vain--putting these lovely pics of myself on the Internet.) Seriously, Mark should be commended for putting up with me all day. He's a very nice guy.

By the way, all the other fishermen kept telling me that I was teamed up with the best angler in the area...and yet...we only caught a couple little fellows. Boy, did I feel like Bad Luck Schleprock, (FYI: Bad Luck Schelprock was a cartoon character during Pebbles and BammBamm's teenage years. *grin*).

Here I am with Stacy Thornton from "What's Cooking" on KNOE Channel 8. You can read more about Stacy's show here. Stacy is one of those people that you meet and you're just charmed immediately, very warm and genuine.

Here's Mark with one of our two sad catches of the day. He didn't want me to take a picture of the fish because it was so small. *grin* Oh, well, it was for a good cause-- that was CASA remember-- and I had a great time. Special thanks to Bob Allen for inviting me. Maybe I'll catch a couple next year...

Hugs,
Shellie
