Northeast Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society formed... The Northeast Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society was formed in August of 2001. This society represents the following parishes of northeast Louisiana: Ouachita, Franklin, Morehouse, Richland, Union, East Carroll, West Carroll, Jackson, Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, LaSalle, Lincoln, Madison and Tensas. Meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month (except December) at 2:30, at the Ouachita Parish Library, 1800 Stubbs St, Monroe, Louisiana. About the Louisiana GenWeb Project

In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index.

At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page. The Louisiana GenWeb Project is an extension of the KY GenWeb Project. The person responsible for Ouachita Parish is SueLynn Sandifer.
