Services for Vera Culpepper McBride of Quitman were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 1997 at Edmonds Funeral Home with Elder Leland Swanner and Rev.Billy Mac McBride officiating. Burial was in Zion Rest Cemetery on Zion Rest Road.

Mrs. McBride, 95, was born March 14, 1902 in Jonesboro, LA and died Thursday December 4, 1997 at Pinehill Nursing Home. Survivors include her children: Kay Hogan and husband, Ernest of Weston, Harold W. McBride and wife, Ovie, of Campti, Ronnie McBride and wife, Jimmeree, of Weston, W. D. McBride and wife, Teal, of Weston, and Genelle Trahan of Weston; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Earl D. McBride; one son: Kenneth McBride; one grandson: Garland McBride, one son-in-law: A. J. "Sonny" Trahan; and one daughter-in-law: Erline McBride.

Pallbearers were Ron Hogan, Ricky McBride, Todd Huddleston, Keith McBride, Kenny Wayne McBride, and Kevin McBride.
