James Ronald Brothers, 54 of Hammond will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 1997 at First Christian Church in Hammond, LA with Rev. Herb Nobles officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 10, 1997 at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Monroe with Rev. Walter G. Mangham, Jr. officiating. Local arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Brothers died November 5, 1997 at the North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. Mr. Brothers was a member of the First Christian Church in Hammond, active member of the Organ Historical Society, National and New Orleans Chapter. He was a member of the American Guild or Organists, Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity, National Association of Teachers of Singing and National Association of Pastoral Musicians. He taught music at Southeastern Louisiana University and was organist at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, LA.

Survivors include his wife: Mrs. Cheryl Anthon Brothers of Hammond, LA; son: Ronald Ashley Brothers; daughter: Rebecca Ainsworth Brothers, both of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters: Mrs. Loretta Montez Lobban of Ft. Worth, TX; and Mrs. Patricia Gayle Bledsoe of West Monroe.
