Services for Mr. Joseph Messina, Jr., age 67, of Monroe, LA will be at 10 AM Monday, October 19, 1998 at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Hurd officiating. Burial will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road - Monroe, LA.

Mr. Messina died Thursday, October 15, 1998 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Messina, Sr., and his brothers: Frank Messina and Sam Messina.

Survivors include his wife: Barbara Bloomer Messina; son: Joseph Rodney Messina and wife, Jamie Sue; grandchildren: Jamie Ann, Jerrod and Janna of Baton Rouge; daughter: Mary Elizabeth Davis and husband, Jerry; grandchildren: Amy and Buddy of Jackson, MS; daughter: Barbara Jo Miletello and husband, Tim of Mandeville; daughter: Kelly Messina; grandchildren: Reese, Morgan, Caci and Cameron of Monroe; Sisters: Mrs. Agnes Messina of Monroe, Angie Bruscato of Monroe, Sarah Dispenza of Monroe, Martha Ruzzutto and husband, Jimmy of New Orleans; brother-in-law Andy Bloomer and wife Glenda of Monroe, brother-in-law: Jack Woltman and wife Jennie of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Euell Nettles, James Boult, Prentice Takewell, Mike Rauhaus, Joe Bennett, Mike Griffin, Jerrod Messina, Reese Griffin, Glen Price and Buddy Davis.

Visitation will be from 4 PM until 8 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home on Sterlington Road, Monroe.

A vigil wake service will be held at 6 PM Sunday evening.
