Services for Mr. J. L. Anders, age 71, of West Monroe, LA, will be 2 PM Monday, November 15, 1999 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel - West Monroe with Rev. Michi Head, Rev. Bo Horne, Rev. Jimmie Pyles and Rev. Calton Yeager officiating. Interment will be in Twin City Memorial Gardens - West Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home - West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Anders died Saturday, November 13, 1999 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center West Monroe following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Anders was a retired salesman having worked at Holsum Bakery. He was a member of the Eros United Methodist Church for over 50 years, he was the president of the West Monroe Lions Club, a member of the Eros Masonic Lodge, the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, was on the Board for Brooklyn Church and was a member of the Building Committee for Eros United Methodist Church. Mr. Anders was very active in fundraising for local charities and churches. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. While in Korea he started a clothing and food bank for children orphaned by the war.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Sue Anders of West Monroe; daughter: Beverly Anders of Calhoun, LA; son: Kerry Anders M. D. and wife Leah of Monroe; mother: Viola Anders of West Monroe; two sisters: Bobbie Stuckey and husband Reece of Winnfield, LA and Charlotte Crowell and husband Darrell of Jonesboro, LA; grandchildren: Brent Wollerson, Brandon Wollerson, Katie Anders, Alex Anders, Michael Anders and Caroline Anders; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bo Chislom, Randy Ewing, Laymon Godwin, Rich Bailey, Alton Spillers and Richard Fewell.

Visitation will be from 5 PM until 9 PM Sunday and 9 AM until service time Monday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home - West Monroe, LA.

The Family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Glenwood Hospital for their kindness shown during his hospitalization.
