Services for Dorothy B. Shiel, 81 of Monroe, will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, at Kilpatrick's chapel on Lamy Lane, Monroe with Rev. Shorty Leggitt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Mrs. Shiel died November 18, 1997 at Glenwood Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burk Shiel, and her son, Robert Allen, Sr.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Bobbie and Ron Cullers of Monroe; five grandchildren: Annette Lively and her husband, Doyle, of Monroe, Michelle Duchesne and her husband, Tommy, of Monroe, Robert Allen, Jr. of Monroe, Vonda Hester and her husband, Ewen, of Bladenboro, NC, and Patty Satawa and her husband, Frank, of California; three brothers: Billy, Carl, and Stacy Bullock of Lumberton, NC; and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m.
