ANCE C. WELCH Boone Funeral Home Bossier City, LA Daddy passed away in his sleep on the early evening of November 5, 2007. A man who met life on his terms, he will pass this earthly existence in the same manner. Daddy will be cremated at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City and his ashes will be spread across Indian Lake in Northeast Louisiana as he requested. A man who asked no quarter from any other man, Daddy did not want a funeral or burial, wanting only to be remembered with fondness and not sorrow. Daddy was born on April 7, 1922 in Winnsboro, LA to Daniel C. and Minnie Alice Welch. He was one of the last remaining members of the generation that lived through the Great Depression and defended his country during World War II, serving in the Air Force and Navy as a teletype operator. Daddy married our mother, Ethelda "Babe" on April 3, 1947 in Clovis, NM. Never one to leave his beloved North Louisiana woodlands and lakes, Daddy and Mother moved back to Franklin Parish with their family in the late 1950's where they raised five children. After Mother's death, Daddy met and married Charlotte Moody of Ruston, LA. He and Charlotte lived in Ruston until the time of his death. Faithful companions to the end, they loved and cared for each other through the illness and trials that growing old brings. Daddy was greeted in heaven by our Mother, two grandchildren, his parents, two brothers; Leo and Daniel, and host of relatives and friends who have passed before him. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Charlotte, five children; Daniel E. Welch, Kathy E. Langley, Martha A. Watson, Patricia W. Shadoan and Ann M. Seals. Daddy also leaves behind nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Please visit www.boonefh.com to share your memories of A.C. with his family.
