JAMES MADISON "MATT" ALLEN

Graveside services for James Madison Allen, 83, of West Monroe, LA will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Twin Cities Memorial Gardens in West Monroe, LA. Officiating will be Reverend Mike Thompson under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Matt was born March 13, 1922 and passed away October 30, 2005.
Matt was educated in the Ouachita Parish Schools, Cypress, Crosley and Ouachita Parish High School. He completed three semesters at Northeast Junior College. He was a charter member of Claiborne Baptist Church; he was elected Deacon and held several other offices in the church. Matt served in the Army during World War II with the 96th Infantry Division in the South Pacific, making D-Day landing on Leyete Philippines and Okinawa. He received an Honorable Discharge with several Medals of Honor. Matt worked at the Monroe Louisiana Post Office (downtown) for thirty years, retiring on July 1, 1972. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Louana Vernon Allen, parents, Bennett Wilson Allen and Katie Simons Allen; brothers, Henry Dale Allen, Charles Ray Allen and Richard Wade Allen; sisters, Mary Neal and Josie Marie Thompson.
Matt is survived by one son Adrin Earl Allen; one daughter: Vivian Elaine Allen Finley; four sisters: Katie Blakeney, Marteal Hart, Patricia Hale and Charlotte Weems; two brothers: Huey P. Allen Sr. and B.W. Allen Jr; six grandchildren: Rhonda Finley Salinas and husband James, Rodney Duane Finley and wife Alisha, Randall "Randy" Dean Finley, Tammy Allen Chisholm and husband Mike, Lori Edwards, Arnold Allen and wife Kim; nine great-grandchildren, Dustin Salinas, Cameron Salinas, Justin Henry, Jennifer Henry, Paula Allen, Debbie Freeman, Skylar Allen, Lillie Allen and Rainy Finley and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends: Jesus said, In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am, you may be also." Friends prepare to meet in our Father's house. Amen.

Babb, 90, of Monroe, LA formerly of Bastrop, LA will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2005, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. C. T. Smith and Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Babb died Monday, October 31, 2005 at North Monroe Hospital after a brief illness. He was a resident of Bastrop since 1952, living at the Avalon Place in Monroe since March of this year. A native of Malvern, AR, Bro. Babb attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR. He pastored churches for over fifty years in South Arkansas and North Louisiana, including First Baptist Church of Marion and the former West Side Baptist Church of Bastrop. Bro. Babb's number one priority was telling people about Jesus and the plan of salvation. His family was his life on earth.
Rev. Babb is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Bessie Hooks Babb, also of Avalon Place, and son, Keith W. Babb and his wife, Carolyn; two grandchildren, Bryan Babb and wife, Alisa and Keena Antley and husband, Rob; one great grandchild, Aden Antley all of Monroe; half sister, Connie Nelms of Shreveport, and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bobby; brothers Ray and Ira, and sister Nella Faye

Mrs. Hoss was born on July 20, 1929 in Hico to Houston and Iberia Williams. She died October 30, 2005 in Marshall, TX. Mrs. Hoss was a waitress at Maxwell's Restaurant for over fifteen years. She was a loving and caring person who looked after many shut-ins in the Dubach area. She was an avid reader, and loved to sew, crochet, quilt, garden and canning vegetables. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach for many years. Mrs. Hoss also worked with the Ladies' Auxiliary at North Monroe Hospital and the Christian Book Store in Dubach.
Mrs. Hoss is survived by her children: Mickey Riley Hoss and Wife Carla of Marshall, TX, Linda Hoss Williamson and husband Robert of Sterlington, Dan Bryan Hoss and wife Mary of Grenada, MS, and Saundra Jean Brumett and husband David S. of Simsboro; one daughter-in-law Carol Ann Hoss; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild; three brothers: Melvin Williams, Clinton Williams, and Donald Ray Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Homer A. Hoss, one son Gary Ray Hoss and one grandson Robert Carl Williamson Jr.

Mrs. Jowers was a member of the St. Paschal's Catholic Church in West Monroe, LA and also of the St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Monroe, LA and she was a member of St. Paschal's Altar Society. Mrs. Jowers and her husband established Jower's Grocery in 1949. Mrs. Jowers was a volunteer with the West Monroe Police Department. She was also a member of the West Monroe Senior Center, where she loved to do ceramics and painting. Mrs. Jowers is preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Jewel Jowers; her parents, William and Mattie Kelly Waldroup; two sisters, Lottie Compton and Georgia Medlin and four brothers, Herman, Jake, Hugh and Bo Waldroup.
Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Joiner and husband Buddy of Calhoun, LA and Carolyn Laws and husband Bill of West Monroe, LA; son, Douglas Jowers and wife Rutheen of Shreveport, LA; sister, Elizabeth Schmitz and husband Don of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Bert Waldroup and wife Pat of West Monroe, LA; two special sister-in-laws, Helen Waldroup of Eros, LA and Dot Waldroup of West Monroe, LA; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Funeral services for E. Leon Cook, 83, will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Charles, LA. Leon died on October 30, 2005 due to injuries from a fall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Clara Cook and his wife Margaret Maxwell.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barnes Lacy; one daughter, Jys ele Jones and her husband David; three stepchildren; brother Bane Cook and his wife Gay of Monroe, LA; two grandchildren; one great grandchild all of Lafayette, LA as well as many nieces and nephews.
He will be interned in the Consolate Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home

MARY FRANCES TOOKE

Mary Frances Tooke, 91,died peacefully at home in Crystal Springs, MS, on October 29, 2005. Visitation with her family is scheduled for Wednesday, November 2, 2005 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the parlor of Crystal Springs United Methodist Church, immediately followed by the funeral service in the church sanctuary. A graveside service and interment will occur at Arcadia Cemetery in Arcadia, LA, at 3:30 PM on November 2, 2005.
Mrs. Tooke, born in Forest, MS, on April 7, 1914, was the only child of Joseph Antley "Jack" and Mary Ashmore Fairchild. She graduated from Crystal Springs Consolidated School in 1932, then furthered her education at Whitworth College in Brookhaven. She earned her undergraduate degree from State Teachers College (now the University of Southern Mississippi) in 1936, and a master's degree in music from Scarritt College in Nashville, TN, in 1942. During World War II she served at the U.S.O. at St. Mark's Methodist Church in New Orleans. At St. Mark's she also taught piano lessons to impoverished New Orleans children for a penny a lesson.
In 1943 she married Reverend Karl B. Tooke. Together they served in the pastorate of churches throughout the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Reverend Tooke, with his wife, also worked for more than a decade with the United Methodist Board of Missions in Philadelphia, PA and in New York City. In the latter years of their retirement, the Tookes made their home in Crystal Springs, MS, where they were residing when Reverend Tooke died in 1998.
The Tookes had three children: John Karl Tooke, a U.S. Marine who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1967, Ruth Tooke Wilkinson and husband David of Brandon, MS and Mary Tooke Kitchens and husband Jim of Crystal Springs, MS. Mrs. Tooke was preceded in death by a grandson, Roy Karl Kitchens, and by a beloved son-in-law, James Evin Greer. She is survived by eight grandchildren: Reverend Sam Greer of Bush LA, Joseph S. Greer and Angel Greer, both of Brandon, Suzy Kitchens, Matt Kitchens, Dan Kitchens, Rebecca Kitchens Thorton and John W. Kitchens, all of Crystal Springs. Her great grandchildren, all of whom reside in Crystal Springs, are Gracie Kitchens, Will Thorton and Wes Thornton.

Orelle Tugwell Watson was born November 6, 1913 in the Conway Community, Union Parish, LA, and died peacefully in Katy, TX on October 29, 2005.
Her father Joseph Peyton Tugwell; mother Henretta Brasher Tugwell and husband Boyd K. Watson, Jr. preceded her in death.
Her son Boyd K. Watson, III, and wife Jane; sister Margie Taylor; sister-in-law Robbie Auger Watson; nephews John S. and Max P. Watson; niece Janet Rohman and granddaughter Kimberly Marion, survive her.
She was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and LSU (Master's) and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was a career teacher having taught in Marion, Bernice, LSU and Bossier City, each in LA, and in the public schools of Tyler, TX. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and educator.
Visitation will be at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA from 12:00 until 1:30 PM, Friday, November 4, 2005, with graveside services following at 2:00 PM at the Conway Cemetery, North of Farmerville. ALTON WRIGHT

Alton Wright was known to all as a genuine authentic "cowboy". He loved the Lord above all, family next, as well as friends and fellow cowboys, with the love for horses and roping trailing closely. He was a plumber by trade and was known to be the "best around". He was a wonderful Christian man who lived by the golden rule of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" He exhibited this by his willingness to offer assistance and give to others in their time of need.
Alton was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him, but remembered with love. He touched the lives of many and would encourage all left behind to live each day to its fullest.
Funeral services for Alton will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brother Brad Jones, Dr. Connie Ward and Rev. Mark Foster. Alton was a member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church, he presently attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Jewel and Dottie Wright, and a sister, Opal Neighbors.

John Michael "Jay" Herron, age 54, beloved son, husband, father and friend passed away suddenly, Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center, Monroe, LA.
Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 4, 2005 at Pine Grove Church, 4300 Loop Road, with the Reverend Dale Walker officiating. Visitation will be at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, on Thursday, November 3, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Jay was a graduate of Neville High School and attended Louisiana Tech University and Northeast Louisiana University. While serving in the U. S. Army, he was attached to USAREUR Headquarters, USAE, CENTAG, SHAPE European Command. He was an avid golfer and sportsman. He especially loved duck hunting with his son. Jay had been a residential contractor for many years, and was currently employed by Tom Sanders Building Mart. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Baugh, Sr. and Lela and Benoit Herron.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Jolynn May Herron; beloved son, John Ernest Baugh "Jeb" Herron; parents, Mariann and Lee Herron; mother-in-law, Birdie Foster of Monroe; sisters, Mari Elise Cooper and husband John of Houston, TX and Martha Solko and husband Doug of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Scott Herron and his wife Lisa of West Monroe; two nieces; two nephews; a large extended family; and a multitude of friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Annie Moffett, five brothers; James Oliver, William Ashby, Dewey Eligh, Hubard Neander and Martin Winston, Jr., three sisters: Ollie Josephine Kitchingham, Annie Mae Culpepper and Bessie Catherine Ford. His first wife, Cora Irene Frazier, an infant son Donald Maurice and his second wife, Mildred Verdue Copeland Spigener.
Survivors include: one daughter, Imogene Marie Whitehead and her husband Preston Eugene Whitehead of Baton Rouge, La., two grandchildren; Rhonda Marie Bowers of Boston, In. and Ronald Eugene Whitehead of Midwest City, OK. two great-grandchildren; Victoria Marie Clark of Lewisville, TX and Rachel Ann Clark of Kokomo, In. He retired from the State Hwy Department in 1973. Brother Moffett was called to the ministry and ordained in 1957. Throughout his ministry he pastored several churches in the area including Siloam Baptist, where he was a member at the time of his death.

Mrs. Foley was born September 2, 1928, in Dustin, OK and died November 1, 2005, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-one years, Dr. John Foley.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Janice Foley of Tallahassee, FL; granddaughters, Olivia and Stephanie Foley; sister, Wanda Ebert and husband, Joe of Blackwell, OK; brother, Manuel Self and wife Shirley of Perry, OK; and many loving friends and neighbors.

Mr. Lewis passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. A native of Dubach and a long time resident of West Monroe, he served in the United States Navy, completing combat duty in the South Pacific during World War II. He received his bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech and his master's degree in education from Louisiana State University. As a lifelong educator, he taught and coached at Logtown School, Swartz Elementary, Ouachita Elementary, Ouachita Junior High School, where he was regarded as an exemplary principal. Upon his retirement after thirty-six years of service, he owned and operated Orange Julius in Pecanland Mall and was later the administrator of Ouachita Parish teen court. He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Monroe and the Timothy Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Anne Greene Lewis; his parents, Herbert and Mamie Lewis; and brothers Elwood "Dick" and Herman Lewis.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his daughter, Sara Lewis Sanders and husband, Louis; granddaughter Allison Stockard Painich and husband, Joey; the light in his life, great granddaughter Sarah Madison "Maddie" Painich; future great grandson Nathan "Nate" Thomas Painich; special friend, Libby Stone, all of West Monroe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Todd Colvin, Alan Greene, Greg Greene, Richard Lewis, Case Sanders and Jacob Sanders.

Mrs. Pilcher was born July 11, 1921 in Munsford, TN and passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at her residence.
Mrs. Pilcher was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a devoted wife and mother. She took great pride in raising her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Pilcher was a great influence in their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Pilcher and grandson Steve Tucker. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Price was born in Manifest, LA on April 4, 1918 to the union of Morris Franklin and Bessie Guyons Barnette and died Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Cecil Russell "Buck" Price and her son-in-law: John Hendrix.
Survivors include her son Cecil Russell Price and his wife Maxine; her daughters Dwanell Pauley and her husband Elbert and Reba Hendrix all of Clarks; her grandchildren Tracey Pauley, Terry Pauley, Bryan Meredith, Becky McDonald, Oby Meredith, Trena Mills and Michael James Price; her sister Earline Breland of West Monroee; eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tracey Pauley, Terry Pauley, Mike Price, Jimmy Denison, Derek Pauley and Michael Meredith.

He was an Army veteran and was a retired foreman with Tim Hicks Right-of-Way Contractors. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jim Weaver.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years Billie Weaver; five children Lynn Weaver, John Weaver and wife CeCe, Jimmy Weaver and wife Cyndi, JaNell Weaver, Donnie Weaver; three sister Oden Laborde Dorethia Jennings and Mary Evans; a brother Sam Weaver; two grandchildren Trey and Blake Weaver; and three step grandchildren Joei Brown, Chaz and Natalie Wink.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara G. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, one brother, John A. Martin and one sister, Vera Williams.

He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran with a rank of First Lieutenant serving as a Bombardier/Navigator on a B-17 for thity-five missions with the 351st Bomb Group. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, receiving BS and MS degrees, and a retired manager for Prudential Insurance Company, Real Estate Investment Office. He was a Deacon, Elder, and Trustee of Covenant Presbyterian Church, a member of Barak Shrine Temple, and a former member of Monroe Rotary Club and the Appraisal Institute.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Betty Rymer; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Jim Shurley; grandson, Will Shurley; and several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Haynesville High School where she was a band member, she attended Arkansas A & M in Magnolia, Arkansas. Daisy was a life long member of the Church of Christ. She was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother and with the exception a brief mid-life career in retail sales, gave her time to her family. Daisy was interested in genealogy, extensively researching family history. She loved music and enjoyed traveling. She was a past member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Spivey is preceded in death by her husband Ercil Meeks Spivey, her parents, Paul and Zora Paschal Zachry, daughter Cynthia Ann Spivey, grandson Thomas Sanderson Sale, and son-in-law Claude Levy Lord.
She is survived by sons William Zachry Spivey and wife Linda of Ruston, LA; Dr. John Paul Spivey and wife Lynn of College Station, TX. Daughters, Ercil Elaine Lord of Baskin, LA and Sarah Eliza Sale Humphries and husband Jack of Ruston, LA. Grandchildren are Cynthia Lord Robertson and husband David of Baskin, LA; Levy Lord and wife Bobbie Williamson Lord of Baskin, LA; Dr. Michael Spivey and wife Dr. Amelia Van Engen Spivey of Tacoma, WA; Amy Conway and husband Lee of Zionville, IN: Jennifer Elizabeth Sale Jacquet and husband Jonathan of Athens GA; Sarah Elaine Sale Driscoll and husband Sean of Rockwall, TX; Kathleen Marie, Susan, and David Spivey of College Station, TX. Great-grandchildren are Lane and Lindsey Marie Robertson, Hope and Haley Lord, James Conway, Daisy June Jacquet. Mrs. Hatten was born on August 4, 1915 in Alpine, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Brown and her brother: A. N. Brown.
Mrs. Hatten graduated from the University of Texas, Summa Cum Laude and she taught school for a year in Van Horn, Texas. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority at the University.
In 1936, she married Thomas Williams Davenport of Mer Rouge, Louisiana and moved to Monroe. She was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church and served on the Alter Guild for many years. She later joined First Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of P.E.O. and a past president of the Monroe Junior League. She and her husband enjoyed being involved in the Monroe Little Theater when it was first organized at Selman Field. She was a Girl Scout leader of Troop #28 for several years. Thomas W. Davenport died in 1962 and in 1968 she married Norman H. (Jack) Hatten of Gulfport, Mississippi. She moved to Gulfport where she lived a very active life and traveled around the world several times with Mr. Hatten. Mr. Hatten died in 1998 and she moved back to Monroe where she lived until her death.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Jo Lusk and husband John of Lone Tree, Colorado: Tom Davenport and wife Kathy of Calhoun, Louisiana; five grandchildren: Robert Lusk and wife Heather of Castle Rock, Colorado, Eula Margaret Marquis and husband Jeffrey of Anthem, Arizona, Meredith Davenport of New York City, New York and Molly Davenport of Lafayette, Louisiana and Kim Stone of Shreveport, Louisiana; three great grandchildren: Jonathon and Nathaniel Lusk of Castle Rock, Colorado and McKenna Marquis of Anthem, Arizona.

Bethel was an avid hunter and enjoyed teaching young people to hunt. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Shannon Campbell.

Patti was born June 23, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio and passed away peacefully on November 7, 2005 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA from complications following severe pneumonia.
Patti was a homemaker throughout her life. She was first a devoted wife and mother. She last worked at the Art Institute of Dallas where she acquired many new friends .Her family then relocated to Monroe, LA. There she was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
In her early years she resided in Cleburne, where she attended Cleburne High School. She was then married to her loving husband Robert E. Pritchard on December 29, 1971. Their only son Robert E. Pritchard, Jr. was born October 31, 1974 in Tyler, TX. Through the years she also resided in Corpus Christi, TX, Shreveport, LA, Dallas, TX and finally Monroe, LA.
Patti is survived by her husband of thirty-three years Bob, their loving son Rob, her parents, Joseph and Helen Barnett of Wimberley, TX, her mother-in-law, Nina Pritchard of Cleburne, TX, her sister Barbara Shetter and niece Sarah, her brother Rodney Barnett and wife Donna, niece Brittany, and nephews Jack and Bradley, of Rockwall, TX., her sister Melissa Corondoni and husband Alex, nieces Arianna, and Natalie, and nephew Alex of San Diego, CA, and her beloved pets Bonnie and Bubba whom will all miss her dearly.

Mr. Simmons was born February 14, 1922 in Clarks, LA and passed away Sunday November 6, 2005 in Monroe, LA. He was a 32° Mason, a Shriner, and a member of College Place Baptist Church where he was an active member of his Sunday school class. Mr. Simmons served in the U. S. Navy in World War II and retired from Ouachita Parish Sheriffs Office after twenty-five years of service. He was also an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Cordelia Warren Simmons.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his daughter: Dian Simmons Ritter and husband A. J.; granddaughter: Alyson Ritter Perryman and husband Tommy; grandson: Allen J. Ritter III; sisters-in-law: Doris W. Madenfort and Jean W. Golden; nephew: Kim Crow and wife Marcelle; great-grandson: Thomas Allen Perryman; two great nieces and one great nephew.
Ouachita Parish Sheriff deputy's will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until service time at 3:00 PM at the graveside at Monroe Memorial Park.

Mrs. Troquille was a wonderful, loving, and caring wife of fifty-three years, she was loved by all who knew her and will always be remembered for her unselfish giving to others.

Mr. Huckabay was a Soldier, Farmer, Public Servant, Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He served his country as Corporal in the United States Army during World War II. His duties took him to North Africa and Italy. After the allied victory in Europe, John returned to farming in Richland Parish then later retired as a Supervisor from the Richland Parish Police Jury after twenty years of employment. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

He was born June 8, 1930 in Bivins, Texas; attended Bethany Nazarene College and for several years served as minister to a number of small churches. He worked for Howard Brothers for seventeen years and for seventeen years before retiring at age 71 owned and operated, with his wife, the Rocky Branch Community Store.
Preston is survived by his wife, Flora McDuff of Rocky Branch; three daughters, Charlotte Brown and Marsha Holcomb of Rocky Branch, and Debbie Swafford of Transylvania; one brother, Virgil, "Doc" McDuff; two sisters, Betty McCartney and Peggy Smith of Olla; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Kilpatrick Funeral Home - Ruston, LA
James Donald (Don) Lindsey, Devoted husband, father, and grandfather, died on November 7, 2005, in Bernice, Louisiana. He was born in Bernice, Louisiana, on May 6, 1916, to George Ernest Lindsey Sr. and Ruth Fuller Lindsey.
Mr. Lindsey graduated from Bernice High School. He received a degree in business from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute and a masters degree in economics from Louisiana State University. As a student at Louisiana Tech, he organized the first student government association and served as its first president. He served as an officer in the navy for four years in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. For over fifty years Mr. Lindsey was president of Lindsey Bonded Warehouse Co. which helped bring employment to the town of Bernice for many years. He was active in the storage of cotton, grain, rice, and other commodities. In Bernice, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, the D'Arbonne Lake Commission, and the Bernice Lions Club of which he served as president. He was also a member of the Bernice Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Mr. Lindsey served on the National Cotton Council and the National Agriculture Committee with the Department of Agriculture.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Henri Esther Scroggin Lindsey of Jonesboro, Louisiana; children Donna and Rick McDowell of Houston, Texas, Barbara Lindsey of Dallas, Texas; Claire and Talmage Boston of Dallas, Texas, and Marilyn Lindsey of Bernice; grandchildren, John and Mark McDowell and Scott and Lindsey Boston; nephews Robert Albritton and wife Ann of Farmerville, and Richard Albritton and wife Judy of Ruston; nieces Carol Emerson McDonald and husband Jesse D. of Monroe; and Suzonne Lindsey Smith and husband Tom of Zieglerville, Pennsylvania; and five great nieces and five great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Ernest and Ruth Fuller Lindsey; brother, George Ernest Lindsey Jr., and wife, Maryl; sisters, Mignon Emerson and husband, Arthur; and Rosalind Albritton and husband, Robert Lee.
The pallbearers will be Chris Albritton, Richard Lynn Albritton, Cal Colvin, Harry Cook, Larry Fitzgerald, Terry Foster, David Lowery, and Bob Tubbs.
The family would like to thank his doctors and caretakers for their faithful and loving concern throughout Mr. Lindsey's illness.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, November 11 at the Bernice United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Johnie Adkins on Saturday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bernice United Methodist Church.

Services for Audie Adams Mayes, age 86 of Urania will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2005 from the First Baptist Church in Urania with Rev. Bo Prather officiating. Interment will follow in the Adams Cemetery west of Kelly.
Mrs. Mayes was born in Sikes, LA on March 21, 1919 to the union of Frank and Mary Ila Boles Adams and died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at the Hardtner Medical Center in Urania.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Urania. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband: D.G. Mayes, her granddaughter: Deborah Fernandez.
Survivors include her daughter: Sue Fontaine and her husband: Steve of Urania, her sons: William H. "Bill" Mayes and his wife: Deborah of Columbia, David Mayes and his wife: Kandy of New Braunfels, TX and Carroll Mayes and his wife: Sheela of Sulphur, her brother: Roger Adams of Olla, her sisters: Christine Mayes of Kelly, Katie Jones of Olla and Allie Vee Thompson of Merryville, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Jason Long, Adam Mayes, Steve Mayes, Scott Mayes, Patrick Mayes, Keith Mayes, Billy Mayes and Todd Sullivan.
Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Riser Funeral Home, Hwy 165, Olla and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at First Baptist Church, Urania.

Memorial services for KR Parker, 60, formerly of Gilbert, LA, will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, November 11th at Apostolic Faith Chapel in Gilbert.
KR was such a loving, sharing, giving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by many. He worked as a tower hand, site supervisor and project manager and was a mentor to many people in the cellular communication construction business.
He was born on July 4, 1945 in Madison Parish, LA. He passed away peacefully in the company of his wife, children, sisters, sister-in-law, nieces and a nephew on November 6th in Sacramento, CA following a brief illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Parker, son, Clayton Kruger and daughter, Ashley Parker all of Gilbert, AZ; father, Lonnie Lee Parker of Gilbert, LA; brothers, Sam Parker and wife Jackie of West Monroe, LA, Shelby Parker and wife Betty of Gilbert, LA; sisters, Ann Jones and husband VJ of Jayess, MS, Carolyn Cureington and husband Leroy of Bastrop, LA, Juanita Fowler and husband Earl of Gilbert, LA, Diane King and husband Johnny of LaPlace, LA, Janice Storey of Winnsboro, LA and numerous nieces and nephews and close personal friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Lou Parker, brothers, Huey Parker and Richard Parker and a sister, Debra Parker.

Graveside services for Kathleen Norris Payne will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2005 at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Officiating will be Dr. Fred Wideman, Rev. Rolly Walker, Rev. Andy Hurst.
Kathleen Norris Payne passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 in Shreveport following a brief illness. She was a resident of Ruston for forty-three years. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Lane and Gertrude Campbell Norris, a brother Lane Campbell (Jelly).
Survivors include her husband of sixy-one years, O. Eston Payne; one daughter, Pamela Payne Love and husband Thomas Lewis Love; grandson, Thomas Lewis (Lew) Love and wife Susan McNeely Love; granddaughter, Pamela Dawn Love; two great grandchildren, Kathleen Love and Thomas Lewis Love, III all of Baton Rouge; sister, Roslyn Dawn Holt and husband Thurston Holt; niece, Stephanie Holt Reed; and nephew John Lane Norris.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Lurlene Richardson, 83, of Crowville, LA will be held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, November 11, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Simon, Mr. Mark Raley officiating. Interment will follow at Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home Winnsboro.
Mrs. Richardson was born August 17, 1922 in Winn Parish, LA and passed away Tuesday November 8, 2005 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center West Monroe. She was a resident of Crowville, a homemaker, and a member of the Crowville Assembly of God.
She is preceded in death by her husband J.O. Richardson, Jr. and son Jerry Richardson.
Survivors include two sons: Leon Richardson of Grayson, LA and Jackie Richardson and wife Barbara of Winnsboro, LA; daughter Becky Head and husband Sonny of Benton, LA; sister Louise Martin; two brothers Howard Chappell and wife Elaine; Paul Ray Chappell and wife Jean. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
