Service for Mr. Harold Eugene Banks, 74, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:30AM Thursday, March 2, 2006, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Mike Haney officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Banks died on February 27, 2006. He was a member of St. Paschal Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #1337. Mr. Banks was preceded in death by his grandson, George Banks Frost; and parents, Lewis and Delma Banks. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Banks; daughters, Georgette Hampton and husband, Michael and Cyndi Traylor and husband Mark; grandchildren, Brandi Traylor, Christi Traylor, Bruce Frost, Jr. and wife, Shannon; sister, Evelyn Holifield and husband Charles of Laurel, MS; and great grandchild, Aiden Bellot, Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Pallbearers will be Bruce Frost, Sr., Bruce Frost, Jr., Gene Lilly, Ricky Lilly, Ray Scharf and Don Clowers. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM until 8:00PM Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe. A Vigil Wake service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday. Mr. May passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in Monroe following a long illness. Mr. May was a member of the Methodist Church. He had served in the US Navy during WW II. Mr. May was a lifetime member of the VFW and The American Legion. Survivors include his wife of over fifty-five years, Mildred F. May of Ruston; son, Rick May of Ruston; daughter, Sharon Hobby and husband John of Shreveport; grandchildren, Leslie and husband Dr. David Hudson of Nashville, TN and Johnny Hobby and wife Kathy of Nashville, TN; great grandchildren, Johnathon and Nicholas Hudson; sisters- in-law, Henrietta Rapp of Houston, TX and Betty Ford of Austin, TX and three nephews.

Funeral services for Robert Kenneth Chennault, 81, of Ferriday, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 3, 2006 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Ray Owens, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Mr. Chennault passed away March 1, 2006 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Mr. Chennault was born in Honolulu, HI, where his father was stationed in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Chennault was preceded in death by his father and mother, General Claire Lee Chennault and Nell T. Chennault; sister, Peggy Lee; brothers, David Chennault, Jack Chennault, Max Chennault and Charles Chennault.

Mr. Chennault was a member of the Sevier United Methodist Church in Ferriday, La. He was retired from Chevron Oil Company and for the past twenty-five years has been the superintendent of the Lake St. John Water District. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during World War II.

Survivors his wife, Mrs. Ruth Harper Chennault of Ferriday, LA; daughter, Kathleen Winston of Farmville, VA; son, Ken Chennault of Vicksburg, MS; grandchildren, Sara and Rachael Winston; sister, Rosemary Chennault Simrall of West Monroe, LA, and brother, Pat Chennault of Ferriday, LA.

Brian, a pipe welder who worked for TurnAround Welding Services, was born January 19, 1976, in Monroe, LA and died February 28, 2006, in St. Tammany Parish, LA. He served in the Army National Guard, was an avid deer hunter and loved to ride his Harley Davidson. He dearly loved his nephew and niece.

Survivors include his parents, Herbert and Carolyn Perry of Monroe; brother and sister-in-law, Bert and Carrie Perry of Monroe; nephew and niece, Zane and Josee Perry; grandmother, Mildred Abrams of Monroe and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services for Mr. Carl James Frusha, 69, of West Monroe, will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 3, 2006, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Puthuppally officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Frusha was born December 4, 1936, to Hollis J. Frusha and Oral Lee Moses Frusha of DeRidder, LA, and died February 28, 2006, at his place of business in Monroe doing the work he loved. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his mother and father-in-law, Nova Lee Welch Evans and Clyde L. Evans and his daughter, Anne Elizabeth "Missy" Frusha of Lake Charles.

Carl was a veteran of the United States Air Force Counter Intelligence Division where he served his country from 1956 to 1960. In the 1970's the family lived in Texarkana, TX where Carl was a Dixie Youth Baseball coach, Scout Master, and basketball referee and coach starting the first area Little League Basketball program. During this time and throughout his adult life he taught his son well how to be an athlete, a sportsman, and a man. He touched many young lives and his teams were always his champs.

For the past twenty-five years, Carl was the General Manager of Buffington Corporation of Monroe. He was a board member of Mid States Wholesale Building Materials Association. He was a lumberman known throughout the southeast as one who always put people before product.

Carl was a devoted husband for fifty years to his high school sweetheart, Nancy Evans Frusha. He was also a loving father and cherished mentor to his two children and daughter-in-law. The joy of Carl's life was his family, most especially his two precious granddaughters to whom he was the greatest PawPaw in the world. He is survived by his wife Nancy of West Monroe; son, Dr. Carl E. "Van" Frusha and his wife Susan Ditta Frusha and Carl's two granddaughters, Samantha Rose and Victoria Anne all of Monroe; two brothers, Dr. Charles Frusha of DeRidder and Ronald Frusha of Conroe, TX; a sister, Marilyn Frusha Talbert of Keithville and a brother-in-law, Jim Evans of Lake Charles. In addition, he had several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncle, cousins and in-laws.

Pallbearers will be his co-workers, Lamar Buffington, Jeff Flanagan, Al Rouchon, and Fred Hillard. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friendships Ltd., Park West Children's Fund, Inc., Lake Charles, LA. Carl will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mrs. Fautheree passed away February 27, 2006 in Eunice, LA after a sudden illness. She was born May 1, 1943 to the union of Tommy Guy and Marjorie Sanders in Transylvania, LA.

Mrs. Fautheree's faith in the Lord was so strong that she was able to turn everything over to Him. This allowed her to completely enjoy her time left with her family. She was active in the PTA while her children were in school. She was her grandchildren's number one cheerleader for all their activities. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Sanders, father and mother, Tommy Guy and Louise Jones Sanders.

Mrs. Casteel was born June 27 1915 in Arcadia. She entered into rest March 1, 2006 in Monroe, LA after a long illness. She is survived by two sons, David W. Casteel of Lake City, FL and Philip A. and wife Denice Casteel of Monroe, LA; one daughter, Mary Lynn Bolton of Arcadia, LA and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and David Wayne Jr. Casteel.

Harold David Fatheree was born on March 26, 1951 at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, Raymond and Audie Perot Fatheree. He was a draftsman and was preceded in death by his brother John Brian "Johnny" Fatheree.

Survivors include his two daughters, Amy Brown and her husband Scott and Anna Fatheree all of Monroe; two granddaughters, Maddy Brown and Kady Beth Brown; his mother and father, Audie and Raymond Fatheree of Columbia; three brothers, Mike Fatheree of Clarks, Russell Fatheree of Columbia and Ronnie Fatheree of West Monroe and three sisters, Pat Rider of Columbia, Ruby Smith of Columbia and Teresa Hendrix of Kelly, LA. ELIZABETH PITTMAN JOHNSON
Elizabeth Pittman Johnson, 45, beloved daughter, mother and sister died March 1, 2006. She was born on January 25, 1961 in Monroe, LA.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Pittman, Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Kelly Emerson, U.S. Army PFC and Amanda Johnson of Haughton, LA; her mother, Maude Pittman of Monroe; two sisters, Ethel Rodden of Choudrant, LA and Angela Patton of Monroe; two brothers, Howard Pittman, Jr. of Texas City, TX and Michael Pittman of West Monroe and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of St. Frederick High School. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroe until she moved to Haughton. She became a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Bossier. She was employed by the law firm of Cook, Yancy, King, and Galloway of Shreveport for twenty years.

She was a wonderful person who brought joy to the lives of others. She will be greatly missed. To all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Baylor Hospital, Texas and the staff of Grace Home, Shreveport, we wish to thank you for the care that you gave. To all her many friends and co-workers who came and supported us through these trying times, thank you. John "Jack" E. Lee, Telecommunications Vice President, dies at 68.
Services for Mr. John "Jack" E. Lee of Monroe will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2006, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Fred Rushing officiating. Jack Lee, Vice President of Product and Segment Management for CenturyTel, died on March 1, 2006 at home in Monroe, Louisiana. He was 68. The cause of death was pancreatic cancer, his family said.

Jack was born in Charleston, WV on February 24, 1938. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1956 and joined the Navy immediately afterwards. He met and married Carole L. Roe in 1960.

Jack began his long career in telecommunications with C&P Telephone. He worked in marketing for AT&T in New Jersey and among other positions; he ran a sales branch in Boston. From 1989 to 1994, he and his wife Carole lived in New Zealand where he led the effort to take New Zealand Telecom from a public utility to a private entity. They also lived in Hong Kong for a short time before returning to New Jersey in 1994. Jack was VP of Marketing for Intermedia in Tampa, FL before joining CenturyTel in 2002.

Jack was an avid golfer. His love of the game was only second to his devotion to his wife Carole and his children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Daniel age 87 died in St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Monroe after a lengthy illness. She was a graduate of Bolton High School, long-term resident of Alexandria and a member of Prompt Succor Parish for many years. She was previously active in the Alexandria Junior League, the Alexandria Garden Club, Menard and Providence Parent Teacher groups and numerous other community service organizations. She was married to the late James Moody Ellington who passed away in 1964, and the late William Allen Daniel, who passed away in 1998.

Sue Daniel is survived by: son, Jay Ellington of Alexandria, LA.; two daughters, Maida Sue Ellington of Monroe, LA, Myra Ellington Lawrence of Monroe, LA.; four brothers, R. W. Dr. Lloyd P. Jacks, 84, of West Monroe, LA. passed away on March 3, 2006 after an extended illness. He was born October 29, 1921 from the union of Joseph and Nora Sharp Jacks in Stewart, MS. Dr. Jacks was a career agricultural educator and the author of many instructional aids widely used in vocational agricultural circles. He received his bachelors and masters degrees from Mississippi State University and his doctorate from Louisiana State University. he served on the faculty of several Mississippi High schools, Mississippi State University, and Murray State University where he was Head of the Division of Agricultural Education for many years. Such was his personality and abilities that many of his students sought him out years after their graduation to thank him for the positive impact that he had on their lives. Dr. Jacks was a member of McClendon Baptist Church. His interest included gardening, horticulture, camping, genealogy, travel, Rotary Club, and the deacon's ministry. He served in the Mississippi Home Guard during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, three sisters, and his wife of 53 years, Fay Steen Jacks.

Survivors include a son, Patrick Lloyd Jacks, and his wife, Susan, of Jackson, TN, a daughter, Donna Jacks Ingram, and her husband, Jerry, of West Monroe, LA, a brother, Troy Jacks, of Laurel, MS, three grandchildren, Caleb Ingram of Greenville, SC and Christopher and Melissa Jacks of Jackson, TN, a great-grandson, Christian Jacks, also of Jackson, TN along with a special friend, Mary Jo Fulton, of West Monroe, LA.

He was an educator in Catahoula Parish for thirty-three years. He began his teaching career in December 1969 and retired in May 2003. He worked as an assistant football coach under Raymond Peace and succeeded him as Principal of Sicily Island High School in 1984 and remained there until his retirement. Prior to that he was Assistant Principal at Martin Jr. High from 1974 to 1984. "Brother" was an avid sportsman and conservationist. He enjoyed archery with his friends at the Hilltop Archery Range in Sicily Island and deer hunting on his farm with his sons-in-law and grandchildren. "Brother" was preceded in death by his mother Kitty Nolen and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M.B. Nolen, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. J.G. McNair.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, Candy Stewart Nolen of Sicily Island, LA; three daughters, Heather Clark and her husband, Mark of Kennisaw, GA, Missy Jones and her husband, Barry of Knoxville, TN and Jessica Weeks and her husband, Casey Lamar of Madison, MS; grandchildren, Roxie and Ainsley Clark and Chandler and Avery Jones; father and step-mother, Marvin and Neva Nolen of Baton Rouge, LA and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Albert Krause of Fort Pierce, FL. Pallbearers will be David Edmonds, Bill Stubbs, John Chisum, Jon Guice, Barry Jenkins and Joe McGee. Honorary pallbearers will be A.B. Chisum, Charlie Sanson, Charles Miller, Keith Guice, H.C. Judge Farr died Friday, March 3, 2006, following a brief illness. He was born June 1, 1922, in Monroe, LA where he remained a life long resident. He was a 1939 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, received his B.S. degree from Louisiana State University in 1943, and his law degree from LSU Law School in 1949. Judge Farr served in the United States Army from 1943-1946, being discharged as a Master Sergeant. He served in the Pacific area during WWII and received the Bronze Star.

He engaged in the practice of law from 1949-1968, becoming a partner in the firm which is now known as Davenport, Files, and Kelly. In 1968, he was appointed as Judge of the Fourth Judicial District, Division C, Ouachita & Morehouse Parishes, following the death of Judge Hillyer Parker. Judge Farr served on the bench for twenty years until his retirement in 1988.

Judge Farr was a member of the American Bar Association, American Judiciary Society, Louisiana State Bar Association (House of Delegates 1960- 1961, Board of Governors, 1964-1966), Fourth Judicial District Bar Association (Secretary-Treasurer,1949- 1958; Executive Committee, 1956-1968); National & Louisiana Association of Juvenile Judges, and served as Chairman of the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana in 1982-1983.

He was also a member of the American Legion, Downtown Monroe Lions Club, and was at one time active in Little League and American Legion baseball. He was on the Infrastructure Committee of Monroe, and received the Rotary Club Paul Harris award. He spent many years of devoted service to his Church, Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday School teacher, Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and most recently as Chairman of the Finance Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. Dean (former Ouachita Parish Clerk of Court) and Birdie Harmon Farr; two sisters, Mary Louise Farr and Elizabeth Ann Farr; sister-in-law, Sally Hodge Farr and great nephew, Christopher Price.

Judge Farr is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Betty Taylor Farr; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Farr, Doug and Kristy Farr and Paul and Ann Farr; one grandson, Cole Farr; one brother, R.D. Farr, Jr., all of Monroe; one sister-in-law, Mary Belle Holstead of Ruston and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his birth mother, Vera Thomas; the mother he knew, Bobbie Thomas and son-in-law, James Lingefelt.

John Zeffrey Lucas, Jr. passed away March 5, 2006 after a lengthy illness. He leaves his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Betty McMahan Lucas. He is survived by his four devoted children: daughter, Harriet Lucas Kicker and Eddy Kicker and their children, Rachel and Adam Kicker of Greenville, SC; son, John Zeffrey Lucas III and Mindy Holman Lucas of Houston, TX, and their children Madeline, Merrick, and Maggie Lucas; son David Eric Lucas of Slidell, LA, and his children Ashley, Lindsey, and Zeffrey Lucas of Thibodaux, LA; and son, Jason Kyle Lucas, currently working in Baghdad, Iraq, and his children Andrew and Emily Lucas, of Houston, TX.

He was born on June 7, 1928 in Strong, AR, son of John Zeffrey Lucas, Sr. and Edith Cullum Lucas. He was the brother of Juanita L. Ulmer, Azella L. King, Naomi L. Keyes, and one surviving sister, Iris Lucas Eaton, of Baskin, LA.

After serving in the Korean War, he returned and earned a degree in Geological Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. He worked for the Social Security Administration and retired as Branch Manager of the Ruston office after thirty years of service. Over the many years of working in SSA, he developed lifelong friends and the family would like to recognize them as honorary pallbearers: Dan Aycock, Gerald Bryant, Irwin Claire, Les Davis, Morris "Mac" McClain, Lynn Tiller, and Jim Watts. The family also wishes to acknowledge special friends, Carolyn Dalfieum and Diane Taylor; and his caring doctors, Dr. Scott Barron, Dr. Ron Hammett, Dr. William Matthews, and Dr. Richard O'Donovan.

Pallbearers are nephews, Ty Britt, Art Goode, Leslie Keyes, Steve Keyes, Stanley Keyes, Craig King, Hugh Smith, and Furman Ulmer, Jr. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

Close friends and family will always remember his sharp wit, endless playful spirit, and tremendous intellect. He instilled in his children and grandchildren a lifelong love of learning. She was born to the union of Louis and Marie Krist, who were immigrants of Czechoslovakia. Mrs. Risley grew up in the small Czech community of Libuse. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Monroe.

Lillie Mae Head Tucker, 84, died March 4, 2006, in Winnfield.

She was born at home in Sikes on July 18, 1921, to Walter and Bertha Erskines Head. A member of God's church, her name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life. She regularly attended Hart Assembly of God.

Mother to ten children (two sets of twins), she endured hardship and loss with faith, fortitude and good humor. A gardener and quilter, she was beloved and admired for her sense of family and community and for her upbeat outlook, beautiful meals, jellies, work ethic and strength. A grandson-in-law once joked that at her death, people would be crying around an empty biscuit pan, and it's true, everyone will miss the blessed gifts of her hands and heart, and how she remembered everyone's favorite, center biscuit, dumplings or chocolate oatmeal cookies. The day she died, she cooked and baked.

Lillie Mae went to Sikes School. A retired nurse's aide, in the '50s she and her husband had a country store in West Monroe.

She was preceded in death by husband, Houston Alson Tucker (married 1/30/37); daughter, Wilma Jordan; sons, Marcus, Ronald and Donald; sisters, Violet Whitaker, Rosa Howell, Colleen Parker, and Head brothers Marshall, Onus, Isaac and Jack, and great granddaughter Ashley Ballard.

She is survived by sons, Lonnie and Connie (Adell), Tommy (Judy), Rick (Darlene), and daughters, Debbie Simpson (Steve), and Alice Coonce (John); also by grandchildren, Becky Shell, Onnie and Robert Jordan, Teresa Tucker, Robin Cater, Corey Tucker, Deann Crouch, Johnny and Chet Tucker, Todd Tucker, Toya Armstrong, Angel Lanier, Rhonda Stone, Sarah Gresham, Troy Tucker and Deena Garcia. She has twenty-seven great grandchildren and three great-greats.

Pallbearers are Onnie and Robert Jordan, Justin Shell, Corey Tucker, Johnny Tucker and Todd Tucker.

Honorary pallbearers are Jarrod Armstrong, Laverl Shell, James Shell, Steve Simpson. Toya Armstrong will sing "I Need No Mansion Here" and "Milky Way".

Patsy was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro. She was a Christian, whose unwavering faith helped her through the difficult times in her life. The most difficult time in her life was the death of her daughter Pam. Patsy gave all of herself in caring for Pam, who was ill for many years. She did this with love, compassion and total devotion. Patsy will be remembered for the loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend that she was. Her most cherished memories were those times spent with her family. Patsy will be sadly missed by all who loved her and she will be carried forever in their hearts. Mrs. Phillips passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the West Monroe Guest House. She lived in the Cheniere area all of her life. She worked in retail in her early years and later assisted her husband in their coin and stamp shop and in raising camellias. She was skilled in many types of needle work and especially enjoyed sharing the items with her friends and family.

Mrs. Moore died March 8, 2006 at Ridgecrest Nursing Home, West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Moore served faithfully with her husband, Rev. Charlie L. Moore for sixty-five years as he pastored many churches in central and northeast Louisiana. After their retirement in 1971, they moved to West Monroe where they resided until their deaths.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-six years, Rev. Charlie L. Moore; her infant son, Clarence Edward Moore; a grandson, Kerwin Odom; and her parents Liller and John Powell; brothers, Roy and Russell Powell; sisters, Myrtie Wilson and Kate Tyler. Parker was a beloved husband and dedicated father, married for sixty-three years to his wife, Liz. Martin passed away on March 6, 2006 to his gracious Father and Creator. Martin was known as a quiet, unassuming man with a genuine Christian spirit. He loved people and people loved to be around him.

Martin and his twin sister, Merceliete Aubuchon, were born on March 24, 1920 in Flat River, MO to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Albert Parker. Martin was preceded in death by his son, Dr. John Duane Parker.
Martin had five years of military service with the U.S. Army and served in World War II. After his military service, he attended and graduated from embalming school in St. Louis, MO. He then worked in the funeral business in Brookhaven, MS and Monroe, LA. He retired as manager of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home; then worked for several more years at Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Martin was a member of the Downtown Rotary Club in Monroe, the Civitan's Club in Brookhaven, MS, a Mason of the Scottish Rite Lodge and a Shriner in Brookhaven, MS, and St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Monroe where he was a member of the Lea Joyner UMC Men's Bible Study.

Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery west of Grayson. Mr. Rogers was born in Columbia on September 13, 1944 to the union of J. T. and Kathleen Lutrick Rogers and died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at his residence in Crestview.
He was a construction foreman and worked all over the world, working in the United Arab Emerates, Cairo, Egypt and Port au PrincHaiti. He moved to Daytona, FL where he was working at the time of his illness. James attended Grayson Elementary School and graduated from Union High School in Willits, CA. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Elizabeth "Libby" McMurry Rogers of Crestview, FL; his daughter, Adrianne of Crestview, FL; his sister, Margie Tomalewicz and her husband, Jack of Georgtown, KY; his brothers, Horace Wayne Rogers and his wife, Iris of Columbia, Edge Rogers of Atlanta, GA and Dwight Rogers and his wife, Sharon of Columbia; his sister-in-law, Lynda Hooper and her husband, Ken; his brother-in-law, Bill McMurry and his wife, Janet; five nieces; eleven nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

In 1993, for health reasons, she moved to Denver, CO, and resided there until late 2005, when she moved to Norman, OK, nearer her daughter and family. Vera was a member of the Church of Christ. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and George Tolar; sisters, Louise Tolar, Maude Guidry and Iva Freeman and brothers, Nathaniel "Nick" Tolar and F.A. "Speedy" Tolar.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Washam Troglin and husband, Rev. Charles of Wewoka, OK; brothers, Leonard Tolar of Rayville, LA and George Tolar, Jr. of Covina, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a number of nieces, nephews and special friends. A nephew, Cecil "Pete" Tolar and wife, Mable of Pine, CO are recognized as dedicated and loving caregivers to Vera.
