ARTHUR A. "YANKIE" ARNOLD, SR. Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe Funeral services for Arthur A. "Yankie" Arnold, Sr., 73, will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Interment will be in Atlanta, TX in the afternoon. Mr. Arnold was born on November 11, 1933 in Fort Worth, TX and passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2006 in Winnsboro after a lengthy illness. He was a graduate of Delhi High School and Louisiana Tech University receiving a B.S. degree and a Masters plus 30. He began his career as an educator teaching electronics at Keesler Air Force Base, later teaching chemistry and physics, coaching baseball and football in Houma, La and then in Ferriday, LA. He continued his career as a Supervisor in the Concordia Parish School System for an additional twenty one years. He was a member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church in Ferriday, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of New Orleans, the Ferriday Masonic Lodge #390 and the Barak Shrine Temple of Monroe. He was also a member of the Louisiana Retired Teacher's Association, past president of the Concordia Parish Federation of Teachers and Support Employees, former member of the Concordia Parish School Board, past chairman of the Concordia Parish Port Commission, former member of the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association, Scout master, and past president of the Dixie Boys and Dixie Senior Baseball league of Concordia Parish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jack and Louise Bowen Arnold and his first wife Jeanette Vining Arnold. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Ann Magoun Arnold, his children and their spouses Jack and Cindy Arnold of Houston, TX, Art and Kathy Arnold of Houston, TX, David and LaLou Arnold Garner of Monroe, LA and Mike and Nicole Irwin of Jackson, MS; his sister, Patsy Arnold Boudreaux of Ruston, LA; his niece who was like a daughter and her husband Rodney and Precia Smith of Ruston; his grand children, Jessica Arnold, Drew Arnold, Kaitlynn, Tripp and Ashlynn Arnold all of Houston, TX, Ashton and Rebecca Garner of Monroe, LA, Zachary and Hannah Irwin and Olivia and Lee Tanner of Jackson, MS and great-grandchildren Elyse Arnold and Bryce Brown of Houston, TX; and numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Creighton, Warren Enterkin, David O'Briant, Gary Parnham, Theo Rabb and Ricky Raven. He had worked in the roofing industry his entire life and had served at one time as a consultant for the La. State Roofing Association. He was a member of the Brown Recreation Association Hunting Club and a member of The Church of Christ. He had been a member of the Ruston Lions Club. Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his son Joe A. Brown. TOMMY J. DOLLAR Kilpatrick Funeral Home Farmerville, LA Tommy passed away on November 29, 2006 following a long illness contracted after a blood transfusion in 1976. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Gale Dollar, his father, William J. Dollar, and his mother Doris J. Dollar. He is survived by: one daughter, Sarah Dollar and one granddaugher, Ainsley - both of Montana; two sisters: Dianne Lightsey of West Monroe and Janice Trichel of Farmerville; three brothers, William G. Dollar of Conway, Herbert D. Dollar of Farmerville and Johnny E. Dollar of Marion; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his fiance', Barbara Wall who filled his last months with love, peace and contentment. His twin niece and nephew, Cayden and Carmen will miss their "Uncle Paw Paw". Tommy was a talented craftsman, musician and vocalist. He was loved and admired by his family and many close friends and neighbors. He will be deeply missed. Daughter of Humphries and Ella Hester, she is alse preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Herman H. Hogg. She is survived by her brother, Maurice Hester of Monroe, LA, five children, Jean Dees of Dallas, TX, Betty and Winston Kimzey of Dallas, TX, Howard Hogg of Kelly, LA, Charlotte and Bob McIlwain of Grayson, LA, and Peggy and Allen West of Whitewright, TX; 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was a life-long member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. She loved birds, gardening, sewing, cooking, and flowers, but her greatest love by far was her family. Truly a beautiful, compassionate, wise, and intelligent woman; she embodied the example of a "Virtuous Woman" as described in Psalms 31. Pearl made each and every person that she touched feel as if they were the most special person on earth and she loved each of us unconditionally. REV. THOMAS EDWARD FIELDS JR. Ivie Funeral Home, Inc. Murphy, NC Rev. Thomas Edward Fields Jr., 47, of Murphy, NC died Wednesday (November 29, 2006) in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A native of Kingsport, TN, he had moved to Murphy in 1984. He was the son of the late Thomas Edward Fields Sr. Pastor Tommy was a 1979 graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK. He pastored a church in Monroe, LA before moving to Murphy to found and pastor On Fire Family Church in 1984. He has since become known as a very compassionate father, friend, or pastor to all that knew him. His passion was to reach people for the Kingdom of God. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Jacquita Smith Fields; two daughters, Rachel Gates and husband, Adam of Murphy and Tinffany Jenkins and husband, Colby of Tulsa, OK; a son, Thomas Fields III and fiancé, Andrea Norton of Murphy; his mother, Vera Shivley Fields of Kingsport, TN; two sisters, Tina Fain of Knoxville, TN and Selena Fields of Kingsport; and a granddaughter, Ashlyn Gates. A celebration of Pastor Tommy's life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday (Dec. 2) in the On Fire Family Church with Dr. Larry Hutton, Rev. Bruce Black, Rev. Mark Strickland, and Rev. Terry Whitson officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Rick Harris, John Broccoli, Tom Hurd Jr., Mike Williams, Jackie Sullivan, and Jeremiah Harris. Tabor died as a result of injuries in an automobile accident on Interstate 25 near Wellington, Colorado. Tabor was a student at Kilbourne High School in the 4th grade. He loved to use his computer and designed his own website. He loved to read. He liked to play with his dog Scampi. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Woodie Martin and Bud Sammons. Survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene R. and Ann K. Preaus, his nephew, David C. Preaus, his nieces, Darnell Preaus Heywood and Virginia Preaus Barba, their spouses, Susan, Will, and Lee, as well as his great nephews, Liam and Charlie Heywood, Theodore and Noah Preaus, and his great niece, Adele Barba. Mr. Preaus, a native of Louisiana and formerly a resident of New Orleans, was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick T. and Mona G. Preaus. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Born on March 29, 1931, we were blessed with her beautiful personality for 75 years. Her life is celebrated by her sons, Jerry Ridings and John Ridings; her daughter in law, Joni Ridings; her grandchildren, Quintin Ridings and Alec Ridings; her sisters, Joy Potter, Barbara Bernard, Carolyn Moore; special niece Selina Gerald; special nephew Jack W. Stephenson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends. Juanita was preceded in death by her mother, Buelah Watts, father, Raymond Smith, brother, H.B. Bowlin and sister, Wilma Savage. Juanita was an Eastern Star Grand Matron and served with the Dixie Chapter #179 for the past 25 years. She worked for Bell South for 38 years and was very active with the Telephone Pioneers service organization. She was also an honorary member of the Pilot Club. She was also an active member in the Lea Joyner Methodist church. Through these dedicated service organization efforts, Juanita touched many lives in a positive manner. While now gone from this earth, she will not be forgotten. Her funeral services will be held at the Sterlington Road Mulhearn Funeral home. The service will be on Sunday, December 3 at 1:30PM. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 2 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Her services will be led by Rev Welden Bares and Rev George Bonner. Afterwards, Juanita will be carried to her final resting place in Oak Grove cemetery with the graveside service at 3:30PM. Assisting on her final journey will be nephews Michael Collins, Wade Collins and Scott Rives. Also assisting will be family friends; George McDannel, James Ray Walter and L.V. Frith. He worked in wholesale and retail sales throughout his life, most notably with Del Monte Foods and most recently with Nordstrom Inc, as a senior sales representative where he excelled at superior customer service to a discriminating clientele. However, his spirit and love lives on within his family and friends. Ray was a man of Honor, Courage and Integrity that lived his life with passion and enthusiasm. He was a loving husband of 58 years to Jimmie, a wonderful father, a magnificent grandfather and great-grandfather, and a devoted friend. Ray could be best described as a quintessential southern gentleman with uncompromising integrity and incredible generosity. His everlasting legacy is apparent by his wide circle of friends. His love of life and love for his family and friends were as big as all of outdoors. His passions of life were many, including hunting, fishing, cycling, hiking, canoeing, or building that next project. He touched and enriched numerous lives along the way as a leader, mentor, teacher, and friend. Autumn was Ray's favorite time of the year. He was truly a champion of the outdoors while as was rocky mountain climbing, heading off on hunting trip or to his special fishing spot. His skills and expertise to fix or repair anything were sought out by many and he was always willing to do so. Ray was born on 16 Feb 1930 to Van & Allie Scott in Monroe, Arkansas. Ray's two brothers Leroy Scott and Merlin Scott greeted him upon his arrival in heaven. Ray was with his loving spouse Jimmie of 58 years. Ray's legacy continues through his sons: Andy and his wife Bernadene Scott of Katy, TX, and Tracy and his wife Eva Scott of Mt Laurel, NJ. Ray's wonderful grandchildren are Mia Scott of Mt Laurel, NJ; Katherine Scott of College Station, TX; and Heather and husband Matt Miller and their son Mason of College Station, TX. She was a member of the Columbia Eastside Full Gospel Church. Dorothy was born October 6, 1908, to the proud parents of Virgil and Antoinette Davis, and she was welcomed home by her three older sisters. Dorothy, known as Dot to family and friends, attended Randolph-Macon Women's College where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. Upon returning to Ruston, where her family now resided, she married the prominent businessman John C. Ritchie. This young couple became involved in community and civic organizations where they gave unselfishly of their time, leadership, and love of Ruston for many decades. Family was always a guiding force in all of their accomplishments, never forgetting that talents and gifts are to be shared with all that one encounters. As charter member of the Magnolia Garden Club, Lincoln General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, founding member of the Woman's Department Club, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ruth Circle for over 50 years, Dorothy Ritchie gave graciously of her time and her talents. Interested in the education as well as the social activities of young college women, Dorothy and her sisters founded the Alpha Lambda Chapter of Phi Mu Sorority at Louisiana Tech University. Dorothy Ritchie was the epitome of the genteel southern lady. She was gracious and welcoming hostess who enjoyed sharing her love of life with all those with whom she met. She was most proud of her husband, Jack, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jimmy Wyche was born January 23, 1912, in Haughton, Louisiana. He earned a B.S. degree in civil engineering in 1934 from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, now Louisiana Tech University. His employment career was spent in North Louisiana working for the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service, from which he retired in 1968. Subsequently he worked for the Ouachita Parish Public Library. He and his late wife, Mildred Courson Wyche, lived in Monroe for many years before moving to Lake Charles in 1989. For the past five years he has made his home at Kingsley Place Assisted Living. He is survived by his son James E. Wyche, III, and wife Charlyne; two grand daughters—Susan Wyche Sangster and husband Frank of London, England; Karen Wyche Contos and husband Mike of Houston, Texas; and five great-granddaughters—Virginia Sangster, Rosella Romero, Madison Sangster, Alyssandra Romero, and Sydney Contos. At retirement he was Assistant Power Plant Operator. Ray loved his church and church family. Next to his church and family, he loved West Monroe High School Sports, especially the softball team over the years. He spent many an afternoon watching his granddaughter, Ashley, pitch for the Dixie Youth League, the West Monroe High School, summer ball, and college ball. All the girls called Him "PawPaw" and he loved it so. Even though he was unable to verbalize his support, everyone knew he supported them in their sports and school endeavors. Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Luton Triplet, stepfather, William T. Triplet, father Cleve Edwards, sister Norma Jean Broussard, and father-in-law, Marvin Conrad, Sr. He was a devoted husband over 50 years to Imogene C. Edwards. He is also survived by his daughter, Patti Edwards and companion Connie Quillen of Austin, Texas; daughter Wendy Chapman and husband Paul Chapman of Colonial Heights, Virginia; and son, Walter Ray "Scooter" Edwards, II and wife Rebekah J. JOHNETTA SISSON WILLHITE BELL Johnetta Bell, 82, of West Monroe, LA died Monday, December 4th at the Landmark Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born December 25th, 1924, in Mer Rouge, LA where she lived until her marriage. She then moved to West Monroe where she worked at Olinkraft until her retirement. She was a member of McGuire Methodist Church. She was instrumental in founding the River City Humane Society for Cats. Preceding her in death was her husband, Walter C. Bell and son, William "Billy" C. Willhite. Survivors include two sons, Fred A. Willhite and wife Debbie and John A. Willhite both of West Monroe. Also, several grand children and one great-grandchild. A special thanks to Dorothy Butler, her caretaker and best friend. Memorials may be made to the River City Humane Society for Cats.

He was a lifetime member of the West Monroe Jaycees and Louisiana State Jaycees. He was very involved with community service with the Jaycees Mr. Edwards was retired from Graphic Packaging (formerly Riverwood) where he was employed over thirty-one years. At retirement he was Assistant Power Plant Operator. Ray loved his church and church family. Next to his church and family, he loved West Monroe High School Sports, especially the softball team over the years. He spent many an afternoon watching his granddaughter, Ashley, pitch for the Dixie Youth League, the West Monroe High School, summer ball, and college ball. All the girls called Him "PawPaw" and he loved it so. Even though he was unable to verbalize his support, everyone knew he supported them in their sports and school endeavors. Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Luton Triplet, stepfather, William T. Triplet, father Cleve Edwards, sister Norma Jean Broussard, and father-in-law, Marvin Conrad, Sr. He was a devoted husband over 50 years to Imogene C. Edwards. He is also survived by his daughter, Patti Edwards and companion Connie Quillen of Austin, TX; daughter Wendy Chapman and husband Paul Chapman of Colonial Heights, VA; and son, Walter Ray "Scooter" Edwards, II and wife Rebekah J. Edwards of Winnsboro, LA; granddaughter Ashley Chapman Sanders and husband Cody Sanders of Dodson, LA; grandson Jacob Chapman of Colonial Heights, VA; and great granddaughter Tori Sanders. He will be missed by everyone who knew or knew of him. He always had a smile and a look of love for his fellow man. VERA LEE TINGLE BULLOCH Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA Service for Mrs. Vera Lee Tingle Bulloch, 85, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, December 9, 2006, at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Mrs. Bulloch passed away on December 6, 2006, at Christus St. Joseph's Nursing Home. Mrs. Bulloch was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was very active. She was the head cook of the gumbo dinners at Memorial United Methodist Church for numerous years and was better known as the "Gumbo Lady." Mrs. Bulloch was a retired Registered Nurse and was commissioned in the U.S. Army Nursing Corp in 1944 and was a veteran of WWII. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women's Club, the North Monroe Lakeshore Lioness Club, the Council on Aging, and numerous other organizations. Mrs. Bulloch was also a Champion Walker in the Senior Olympics in the Monroe District. Survivors include her sister, Evelyn Tingle Tarver of West Monroe, LA; brother, T.H. Tingle and wife Agnes of Grayson, LA; son, Milton Bulloch and wife Julie of Dallas, TX; daughter, Carolyn Howard and husband Raymond of Monroe, LA; three grandchildren, Charlene Mendosa and husband Roger of Austin, TX; James Howard and wife Cindy of Dallas, TX; and Mike Howard of Hebert, LA; three great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Faye Bulloch of Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sally worked for Riverwood international in West Monroe, LA, and then transferred to Atlanta, GA when their corporate offices moved in 1993. There, she met David in 1994 and thet were married in 2002. She retired from Riverwood International in 2004 after 32 years. In 2004,Sally and her husband relocated to Reno, Nevada. Earlier this year, Sally was able to go on a 10-day, medical mission trip to Cambodia with other members of South Reno Baptist Church. She spent many hours reading stories from the Bible and telling the young children of cambodia about our Lord God and His Son. Jesus (most heard these names for the first time). MARY CAROLINE NIHART WINEINGER Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Mary Caroline Nihart Wineinger, a beloved widow of a United Methodist Minister, died peacefully on December 4, 2006 at Grace Home in Shreveport, LA. She was born January 10, 1916, in Minneapolis, KS, the eldest of six children. She grew up in Lake Arthur, NM. A star student, she excelled in all subjects. After graduating as valedictorian, she attended McMurray College in Texas, where she not only met the love of her life, Donald Eugene Wineinger, but also graduated with the highest grade point average of her class. She married Donald instead of attending medical school where she had been accepted. They were married in New Orleans, LA and then moved to Port Sulphur, LA, where she served as a minister's wife, and later to Delhi, LA and West Monroe, LA. Active in Church Women United and the Women's Society of Christian Service, both statewide, she also served the church in missions, and many other functions and was a Girl Scout leader. Mary inspired her two daughters to love literature, reading, writing, gardening, sewing and humanitarian pursuits. She will be greatly missed by her surviving siblings: John Nihart of Longview, TX; Dot Chandler of St. George, UT; Ruth Moran of Roswell, NM: her daughters, Bonnie Ann Mason of Topsham, ME and Jean Streetman-Horn and her husband Omer of Raton, NM: her granddaughter, Michelle Mason of Newburyport, MA as well as nieces and nephews. Her many friends remember her fondly for her caring ways and her organizational and leadership skills. She was a charter member of Reveille United Methodist Church. Mrs. Luffey is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Luffey, mother, Myrtle Daniel Logan, father, W.M. Logan, and son-in-law, Robert F. Rhone, Jr. Mrs. Luffey is survived by her son, William Michael Luffey and wife Sharon Swift Luffey of Olive Branch, MS; daughter, Frances Luffey Rhone of Monroe, LA; granddaughter, Rebekah Luffey; and grandson, Michael Luffey, Jr. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. He was born to Richard and Alice Fife Mock on August 16, 1912 in Baskin and passed from this life on December 7, 2006 at his residence in Baskin. Mr. Mock was a member of Baskin Baptist Church and a lifelong Franklin Parish farmer. He was a long time member of Franklin Parish Farm Bureau, the Farmer's Home Administration Committee, and a County Committee member of the Franklin Parish ASCS office. In addition to his local agriculture affiliation, Mr. Mock served as an instructor for veterans of WWII and the Korean Conflict in an agriculture training program. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Charlie Aline Mock; son Charles Mock, and an infant grandson Lane Mock. He is survived by three children: Mary Hedrick of Baskin, Harry E. Mock, Jr. and wife Nona, of Winnsboro and Barbara Gusky and husband Mike of New Roads; daughter-in-law Cheryl Mock; sister Edith Stephenson of Bastrop; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous other relative and friends. Our dearest Sally, born on February 11, 1949 in Massapequa, New York went to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 6, 2006 while visiting her family in West Monroe, LA. She bravely fought a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother Jacqueline Butler, Step-father Clayton Butler; father, Edward Robert Dingler and brother Bill Dingler. She is survived by her husband David Schmitt, Reno, Nevada; daughter Lisa Kouns and son Robert Pickard both of West Monroe, LA; five grandchildren, James McCarty of West Monroe, LA., Mistie Williamson of Ruston, LA., Ashlee Allbritton of West Monroe, LA., Chelsea Pickard of West Monroe, LA and Crista McKee of West Monroe, LA.; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Justin and DJ McCarty; two brothers, John Dingler of Winnfield, LA and Bobby Dingler of Sikes, LA; and four sisters, Martha Dingler of West Monroe, LA., Jackie Henderson of Winnfield, LA., April Powell of Montgomery, LA. and Jeanette Dudgeon of West Monroe, LA. Sally lived with her husband in Reno, Nevada where they were members of South Reno Baptist Church. She loved reading, gardening, rock hunting, and taking long walks in the desert, but her greatest love by far was for her family. Sally worked for Riverwood International in West Monroe, LA, and then transferred to Atlanta, GA when their corporate offices moved in 1993. There, she met David in 1994 and they were married in 2002. She retired from Riverwood International in 2004 after 32 years. In 2004,Sally and her husband relocated to Reno, Nevada. Earlier this year, Sally was able to go on a 10-day, medical mission trip to Cambodia with other members of South Reno Baptist Church. She spent many hours reading stories from the Bible and telling the young children of Cambodia about our Lord God and His Son. Jesus (most heard these names for the first time). Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Chris was a beloved son, brother and father who will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
