In Search of the Banana Tree...

This was a beautiful spring Saturday to journey down to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. I had been looking for banana plants to plant around the pool. Seems the ones sold by the local nurseries are not very hardy. Jerry called Breaux Bridge and found some plants that were native to this area. We stopped in Forest Hills to do a little plant shopping and even stopped at Lea's to have some pie and coffee. A nice break in the trip. We then found the camp.

We found the camp and knocked on the door. We looked around to see where everyone was.

We knew we had the right place. And we knew someone would show up soon to enjoy the music that was filling the air. But, it just seemed no one was at home.

Well, almost no one. Ah, but there was someone gatheriing banana trees.
(I kept watch :)

Finally, with our banana plants safely tucked away in the back, we started back across the bridge.

We stopped at Pat's to eat some local seafood before returning to Monroe. We can't thank you enough for your hospitality.
