Subject: Breard/Rimes Family information
My name is Robert B Chambers. My mother is Heloise Aurora (Rimes)
Chambers. She was married to Horace B Chambers in 1949 at St Mathews
church. She is the daughter of William John Rimes and Annie Gertrude
(Breard) Rimes of De Siard Street. We have been able to trace
Annie G (Breard) Rimes to her mother Heloise Aurora (Fihiol) Breard
and back as far as Don Juan Fihiol. This info is well documented
in the History of Louisiana. We are looking for information about
Robert M Breard and the Breard side of the family. Specifically
about any brothers and sisters that he might have had and how
they came to settle in Monroe and from where.
We also know that William John Rimes who married Annie G Breard
came to Monroe from Mississippi, but have little information other
than that. My mother had two brothers who became Jesuit Priests
so the only offspring from the Rimes are my brother, my two sisters
and me. We would like to know if there is any information about
the Rimes side of the family in Monroe or do we have to look to
Mississippi for that info.
From: "John P. Johnston" <jpjohnston@troycable.net> Date: Sat, 6 Dec 2003 Subject: Child Died While Family Living in Ouachita Parish, La.
I am trying to help a high school friend of mine with her family
history. Family tradition says that Butler Parks and his wife,
Ellen (Pledger) Parks, after marrying here in Alabama in 1866
moved to Ouachita Parish, La. and lived there during the 1870's
and possibly into the 1880's. One of their children (His name
was possibly Warren Parks) was playing near a swamp or river.....his
hat blew off into the water, and the child went into the water
to get it, and an alligator got him. We don't know if the child's
body was recovered or not. Just wondering if an obituary exists
that might give more details on this tragedy. The family later
moved back to Alabama where Mr. Parks died in 1900 and Mrs. Parks
died in 1911.

From: Lnordan1@wmconnect.com Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 08:46:14 EDT I hope you can help me. I am looking for the obit of my great uncle, Earl Lowrey (Lowery, Lowry). I was told he passed away last Friday or Friday before that. I live in WA state but I checked online with the News Star in Monroe and I can't find anything on his obit there. I looked for a person to ask online but there was none listed.
He was staying in West Monroe with his family at the time. He was brother to my grandmother, Lessie Lowrey Hooter.
He was one of about 15 siblings. He has to have been pretty far along in age. If you have any suggestions for me, I would appreciate it. He might be buried in the Hasley Cemetery or in the Logtown Cemetery, Caldwell Parish, LA with his sisters.
His full name was Earl Ellis Lowrey born Sept 5 1919 to Edward Riley Lowrey and Laura Elizabeth Butler in Caldwell Parish I think. That's all I know so far.
