WATOTO VISITS POINT ASSEMBLY
February 13, 2000

In 1983, Gary and Marilyn Skinner moved with their family to Kampala, Uganda to plant an English speaking church in the heart of the city. Kampala Pentecostal Church (K.P.C), now a 7000 plus member congregation, is touching the city and nation with the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Uganda has endured devastation due to war and disease. Nearly 2,000,000 Ugandans have died since the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic. Today, some 1.1 million children in Uganda are orphans, having lost one or both parents to AIDS. In 1991, God moved Gary and Marilyn with compassion for Uganda's parentless children. Kampala Pentecostal Church is realizing its responsibility to care for widows and orphans. Watoto Child Care Ministries and its child sponsorship program is designed to address the need of Uganda's orphan crisis. Watoto means, The Children.
