Someone defined mercy as "God not giving us what we
deserve", but grace is "God giving us what we do not deserve."
All of us deserve to die for our sins, but God has provided deliverance from
sin's penalty in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. Receiving God's free gift
is as simple as ABC.
Acknowledge that you have sinned.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
(Romans 3:23)
Believe that Jesus death, burial
and resurrection paid your sin debt.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be delivered..."
(Acts 16:31)
"...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
(Romans 10:9
Confess and forsake your sin.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
