Few medical crises are more devastating or frightening than when a loved one is stricken with a life-threatening disease like cancer or stroke, or trauma. Few situations place greater stress on parents and families. And while tremendous advances have been made in treatment, the families' financial and emotional burdens remain. The Ronald McDonald House was created to help ease some of these burdens.
Our Ronald McDonald House is a home-away-from-home where families can stay while their family member is being treated at a Monroe-area hospital. Although priority is given to families of infants and children, the Ronald McDonald House has also served over a thousand families of adult patients.
Who Governs Operation of the House?
Our Ronald McDonald House is a non-profit corporation. The Board of Directors consists of parents, hospital representatives, local McDonald's restaurant owner/operators, Parent Support Group members, and other concerned citizens.
