How do I FTP into my personal web space with Bayou?

 

 

 

First if you don’t have your personal web space you can easily activate it by sending us an email at support@bayou.com or calling us at 1-888-302-2968.

 

NOTE: There is a one time fee of $5 for the activation but, the site is free from then on. You will have 5mb of space for your personal use to edit or use as needed

 

Example:  www.bayou.com/~username

 

Once you have your space registered you can simply ftp into that site by using your preferred ftp program. One free program we like to use is “Filezilla” http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/

The site address you will FTP into will be www.bayou.com

Username and password will be the same one you use for dialing into the internet with.

Once the system detects your username and password it will automatically redirect to your personal folder.

 

Note: In your personal folder you will notice another folder “public_html”. If you want other people to see your site please make sure your index.htm is in that folder along with other content as needed.
