Mrs. Bailey died on April 29, 2005 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA.
Survivors include her children, Lynn Parish and his wife, Jean, Bruce Blackburn, Charles L. Parish and his wife, Debbie and June Humphries and her husband, Charles; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice R. Lay and Betty W. Turner; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cloyd was born June 7, 1929 in West Monroe, LA and died Friday April 29, 2005 in Monroe, LA.
Mr. Cloyd was retired from LP&L with thirty-eight years of service, worked at the West Monroe Livestock Auction since he was eight years old, and was a member of Cedar Crest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Lorea Wade Cloyd, three sons: Randall Cloyd and wife, Pam, Jay Cloyd and wife, Fran and Mark Goza and wife, Tricia; two daughters, Brenda Goza and Vicky Goza Dickerson; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; nephews: Wayne Acree, Jerry Acree, and Michael Duncan; niece, Dwanna Parkerson.
Pallbearers will be Wayne French, Sam Stephenson, Barry Blanton, Lee Martin, Doyle Jones, and Dale Oetgen.
Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until service time Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Mrs. Smith worked at Howard Brothers Discount Stores and was a member of Whites Ferry Road Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Porter V. Smith.
She is survived by three daughters: Julia Windham and husband, Dan of Farmerville, LA, Helen Stepita of Potomac, MD and Molly Smith of Memphis, TN; grandchildren: Christina Stepita, John Clayton Cox, Meredith Stepita, Ashley Stepita and Michael Stepita; one brother, Steve Jones, Jr. of Ville Platte, LA; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tibbit was a member of Taylor Bayou Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, 10th Armored Division, Patton's 3rd Army, received a Bronze Star and was a Purple Heart recipient twice and a member of the Royal order of the Purple Heart. Mr. Tibbit was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Tibbit, his parents; Golden and Mary Lou Tibbit; two brothers; Jess W. Tibbit and William G. Tibbit.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Spearman Tibbit, of Winnsboro; his two daughters, Vivian Meriweather and her husband, Micheal of Yulee, FL, Gwendolyn Smith and her husband, Homer of Clewiston, FL; his son, John Tibbit, Jr. and his wife, Connie of Crowville, LA; his three sisters: Polly Miller, Mattie Williams and Etta Pendry; his two brothers, Quinton Tibbit and G.M. Tibbit, Jr; his seven grandchildren and twelve great-granchildren.

Gregory J. Jordan was born in Monroe, LA. He graduated from Wabash College in 1978 and then studied law for a year at Louisiana State University. He moved to New York City in 1980 with plans of becoming a novelist. Working at odd jobs while working on his novel, he discovered his true talent, interior design.
Mr. Jordan established Greg Jordan, Inc. in New York in 1983. Last year, he expanded his firm to the West Coast by opening a design studio in Los Angeles. He was named this year by Architectural Digest as one of the magazine's Deans Of Design. Mr. Jordan is survived by his mother, Pat Nolan Jordan of Monroe, brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Tammy Jordan of West Monroe, nephews Michael and Matthew Jordan of West Monroe, and Aunts Lila Simpson of West Monroe and Mary Jo Gates of Farmerville.

Mrs. Baucum was born November 19, 1922 in Jasper County, MS and passed away on April 30, 2005 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, in West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Baucum was a longtime resident of the Delhi area. She was a loving mother, grandmother and dear friend who will be greatly missed by those family, friends and special neighbors she leaves behind. She was a member of Delhi United Methodist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Victor Noel Ashley, 88, of West Monroe will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the Whites Ferry Rd. Church of Christ in West Monroe with Bill Smith and Carl Allison officiating, assisted by Mr. Ashley's grandchildren. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA.
Mr. Ashley died May 3, 2005 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Ashley served as an elder at Jackson Street Church of Christ in Alexandria, LA, and Ruston Church of Christ in Ruston, LA, and was a member of the Whites Ferry Road Church of Christ. He graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, LA, where he was the first Drum Major and an officer of the ROTC Program.
Mr. Ashley was a member of the Shreveport and Alexandria Civitan Club, where he served on the national level. He retired in Sales from General Electric in 1974.
Mr. Ashley is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.

Vincent Charles Bruscato passed away on April 30, 2005 in Livingston, Texas.
He had been a resident of Monroe, Louisiana all of his life, except for the last three years where he and his wife Nina, have lived near their sons in Texas. Charles was a longtime businessman in Monroe and over the years owned many businesses. After his first tour of duty in the Navy, Charles built an indoor boxing arena which he named Roosevelt Stadium. He promoted boxing and wrestling bringing many celebrities to Monroe such as Max Schmeling, Red Grange, Governor Huey P. Long and many more. He was also the owner of the Hello World Grocery Store. He was a well-known building contractor for many years owning a lumber and hardware company, concrete company and cabinet shop. He also owned and operated a furniture, appliance and record store. In his earlier years he served as a police officer for the Monroe City Police and Louisiana State Police Department. Charles served in the United States Navy during peace time where he made two Annapolis Midshipmen world cruises aboard the Battleship Arkansas, while serving in the Navy he was boxing Champion of the Pacific fleet with a record of 33 wins and no losses. During World War II, his second enlistment in the Navy, he served in Hawaii, Okinawa, Philippine Islands and other areas of the Pacific.
In his early years he was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and thereafter a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and various other organizations. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beatrice Bruscato and brothers, Paul and Gene Bruscato, all of Monroe. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Nina Scalia Bruscato, five children: Bea Shelton of Los Angeles, CA; Frank Ross Bruscato and wife, Joyce; Robert Mark Bruscato and wife, Connie of Coldspring, TX; Charlotte Buford, of Baton Rouge, LA; Mary Clare Davis and husband, Frank, of Slidell, LA; brother, Nick Bruscato and his sister, Annie Varino; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four great-great -grandchildren and many nieces and nephews..

He was preceded in death by his father James Allen Nowell, Sr. and his sister Judith N. Starnes. Mr. Bruno, a resident of Northeast Louisiana War Veteran's Home, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at North Monroe Medical Center. He was a WWII veteran and a member of American Legion Post 13. He was a graduate of Neville High School and retired from the City of Monroe and Bullock's Garage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bruno; sister, Miss Mary Bruno; brother and sister-in-law, Mitchell and Marie Bruno; sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Johnny LaCara; and nephew, Joseph LaCara.
During his lifetime, he was a caring and giving man in his community.

Nell Williams Broyles passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2005, in Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be at Osborn Funeral Home on Friday, May 6, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Memorial services will be at Broadmoor Baptist Church on Saturday, May 7, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Tom Harrison officiating. A private burial will precede the memorial service.
Nell was born on March 28, 1928 in Good Pine, LA. Her family moved to Natchitoches and later to Baton Rouge. She graduated from Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
After her marriage in 1950, she resided for 27 years in Leesville, LA where she was active in numerous school, civic and social clubs, as well as First Baptist Church.
Upon moving to her husband's hometown of Shreveport in 1977, she developed many friendships. Nell was a great cook and enjoyed sewing. She also enjoyed playing bridge with friends where, at the end of the day, the big winner would take home a quarter. She would patiently listen to friends talk about their grandchildren, yet rest securely in the fact that hers were better.
During the last five years of her life, Nell suffered a major stroke and several other health problems. She never complained, only apologized for the inconvenience it caused others. She never wavered in her Christian faith and was confident of her salvation.
Nell was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and the Pastor's Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Shreveport Club, Shreveport Country Club, and numerous others groups.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Diane Broyles, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mord Otis Williams.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 55 years, Dr. William H. Broyles. She was a great mother to and is survived by her children, daughters Deborah Dunlap and her husband Bill of Dallas, Cynthia Peak and her husband Chris of Nashville, TN, sons William H. Broyles, II, and his wife Nancy of Shreveport, and Michael O. Broyles and his wife Renee of West Monroe, LA. She is also survived by grandchildren Mike Dunlap, Kady Dunlap, Craig Dunlap, David Dunlap, Rick Dunlap, Will Broyles, Jim Broyles, Becky Broyles, Ginny Broyles, Clayton Broyles, C.C. Broyles, Drew Peak, Ellie Peak and Matthew Peak. Also surviving her are one sister, Dodie Ulmer of Shreveport, and special aunt, Harding Walters of Leesville, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be sent to LA Baptist Children's Home, LSUSHSC Feist-Weiller Cancer Center, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.

Doris is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Johnson of Monroe and Dorothy Weatherford of Richardson, TX; her sister, Marie Humphreys of Monroe; her four grandchildren, Amanda Phipps of Murphy, TX, Clay Weatherford of Austin, TX, Julie Davenport of New Orleans, LA, and Jack Johnson of New York City, NY; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Moore Hammond; her parents; and her other siblings.
A devoted Christian, Doris dedicated her life to family and homemaking, and was a loving and beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Since January 2003, Doris resided at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Plano, TX, where she had many friends among the residents and staff, including her very dear friend and roommate, Lois Bryan.

Funeral services for Grace Evelyn Johnson, 86, of Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Monday, May 9, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Ruston, with Dr. Chris Craig officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Mrs. Johnson died at Lincoln General Hospital on Thursday, May 5, 2005.
She was a 1940 graduate of Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in Home Economics and was a member of the Littera Club. Grace Evelyn was quite active in the work of the Woman's Missionary Union of the First Baptist Church, attending regularly the monthly "circle" and the "round table" to participate in missionary activities and emphasize reading good books.
She was also a dedicated worker for many years in the church library. Grace Evelyn was tireless in caring for her family and grandchildren, and was always a source of help, love, and inspiration. She was our perfect example of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and Christian lady. Her absence will leave a great void in all of our lives.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. F. E. and Hulda Hogan, a sister, Rebecca Louise, and a brother, Herman Hogan.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Milton R. Johnson; their children: Rebecca Lynn Walker and husband Donny Ray of Coppell, TX, Nancy Raye Cook and husband Philip of Sarasota, FL and Frank M. Johnson and wife Terri of Ellicott City, MD. Her grandchildren are Ray Walker, Rebecca Cook and Kes Johnson and her great grandchildren are Jackson Walker and Elizabeth Grace Walker. She is also survived by her brother, F. Earl Hogan and his wife, Roberta.
Pallbearers will be Al Braswell, Glenn Clark, Ben Haley, Andrew Johnson, Homer Ponder and Ansel Winham.
Honorary pallbearers will be the other members of the men's Sunday school class of Department VIII.

Pat retired from the Louisiana State Highway Department after 30 years of employment in Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin R. and Ruth K. Hemler of Sterlington, LA. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and Bob Ryan and Jennifer and Donny Wilson; grandson, Aedan Ryan; brothers, Henry Hemler and wife Susan and Martin R. "Buddy Hemler and wife Marilyn; sister, Bonnie E. Knighten; and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Mr. Hogg was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Kipe Hogg was born on November 6, 1917 at Grayson, LA, to the union of his parents the late Issac Marvin and Bessie Reeves Hogg. He married Ruth Monroe on November 23, 1935. From this union came ten children, three of which preceded him in death, His daughter Norma Jean Hogg and two sons Reginald Hogg and Landry Hogg. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Avery, Omie Conner, and two brothers, Herman Hogg and Sherman Hogg.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mrs. Ruth Monroe Hogg of Grayson; two daughters: Mrs. Johnnie (Hogg) Beatty of Ruston, LA, Mrs. Sue (Hogg) Bryan of Downsville, LA; daughter and son-in-law: Sandra and Gerald Rushing of Grayson, LA; three sons and daugther-in-laws: Glenn and Janice Hogg of Lamesa, TX, Gary and Carol Hogg of Lamesa, TX, Wayne and Teresa Hogg of Lamesa, TX; son "Billy" Hogg of Grayson, LA; two sisters: Merle Roberts of Denver, Colo, Grace Avery of Ft. Worth, TX; brother: Norman Bo Hogg of Grayson, LA; twenty-six grandchildren and forty-one great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.

If the love of family is the measure of a man, then Jimmy Ray Hoover was a large man in-deed. Born Jan. 28, 1940 to Herman and Hazel Humphries Hoover, Jimmy grew up in the Frog Island community near Crowville.
On June 28, 1959, he married his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Audrey LaBorde. They made their home in the Swampers community, where they raised their two daughters Beverly Hoover of Zachary, LA and Angela Hoover Franklin of Delhi. Mr. Hoover retired from White Ford in 1996 after 30 years of outstanding service, 15 years as Sales Manager. He also served three terms as a member of the Franklin Parish School Board representing Ward III. Since his retirement, he has devoted his time to his family, especially his grandchildren, Emily and Katie Franklin and Courtney and Aaron Humble. Mr. Hoover passed from this world on May 6, 2005 after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren, sons-in-law: Thomas Humble and Steven Franklin; brothers-in-law and their spouses: David and Sue LaBorde and John "Bud" and Janet LaBorde; two "sons" Buck Shaw, Jr. and Larry Biggs; close cousin Jo Ann Livingston and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents: George and Lilly Hoover, and Nash Humphries.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 8, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Fish Bayou Baptist Church in the Swampers community with Rev. Jerry Chapman, Rev. Kelly Clark, and Rev. Williams Smith officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Harris cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.

Mrs. Stedman was born July 5, 1911, in Hilo, Arkansas, the daughter of Nick Merriweather and Myrtle Irene McLauren Lawton. She was the last of two brothers and three sisters to pass away. She died Friday, May 6, 2005.
She had been a resident of Louisiana since 1932, 57 of those years in Monroe and as a member of the First Baptist Church, Monroe. In her beloved church, she served the Lord as a Primary Sunday School teacher for 30 years, as Children's Librarian for ten years and many years in the Home Bound Ministry.
Her husband of almost 76 years, Curtis Stedman, preceded her in death in December, 2004.
Survivors include her sons, James Ronald Stedman and his wife Terry of Falls Church, VA, and Doug Stedman of Pineville, LA; daughter Loette Stedman Lansing and her husband Bill of Monroe; grandchildren, Rick Stedman, Richard Stedman, Sharon Diestch, Sheila Kelley, Shalane Orlando, Mark Saterfield and Alana Saterfield James; and eleven great grandchildren.
